Caller identification: how to take a booking in half the time

With bookings taken over the phone, the time is lost right at the beginning of the call: "Good morning, who am I speaking to? And where should we pick you up?" For regular customers that is wasted effort — the system can recognise them by their phone number.

How it works

When the dispatch system is connected to your phone line, every incoming call brings up a small box with the caller's name and their favourite addresses — looked up by number before you even pick up. You create the ride in a few seconds straight from that box, without typing anything.

What it gives you

  • Faster bookings. The ride is done during the call, not after it.
  • Fewer mistakes. You are not retyping the address; it comes from

the customer's record.

  • A better impression. When you greet an older passenger by name and

already know where they travel, the service feels personal and reliable.

What you need for it

Connecting to the phone requires a telephone exchange and a number from a provider — that is something the taxi company arranges itself. The application then only receives the information about the incoming call and matches it to a customer. Switching the connection on and off is a matter of settings, not programming.

If you have no phone connection

Even without an exchange it is worth keeping customers on file with their favourite addresses — the dispatcher finds them by name and creates the ride noticeably faster than from memory. Caller identification is then the icing that shortens it further.

A small thing that adds up in daily operation: a few seconds saved on every call means a markedly calmer dispatch desk by the end of the day, and happier customers.
